My toddler daughter played for nearly two hours here this afternoon. Slides, trampoline, wearing costume clothes, etc. Within a few minutes after leaving, we noticed a severe rash on her arm and what looked like tiny bites on her legs (not unlike flea bites). Do we know the source with 100% confidence? No. Is the timing very suspicious? You bet.

Good concept, nice location. Might be fun for older kids but definitely lacking fun and toys and SPACE for younger ones. Brought my 9.5 month old son, who is crawling and walking with assistance, and the play area is about 2ft x8 ft with very few toys. There were two boys, about 5-6 years old playing in the infant area, and the teenaged girl who worked there only came to get them out because she heard me say, "You guys aren't supposed to be in here because you're too big for this area and you might hurt the baby." There was one girl working in the entire play area and it was chaotic. The only reason we stayed for the 35 minutes that we were there for was because we paid the $9 and I wanted to feel like I hadn't completely wasted my money. I felt that way anyway. Glad we actually live in Ft. Lauderdale so that we can go to Funderdome. So much better.

I took my two boys here today and while the kids do have fun, the staff is rude and all act disinterested. There is a very slippery area when you climb up the stairs around the corner that leads into the other room. I slipped and fell and so did my two boys. It is very DANGEROUS! Over a year ago, I told management about it and they still have not fixed the problem. My 4 year old slipped and hurt his finger and no one seemed to care. I had to ask for ice and they just shrugged it off. I do not think we will be back or recommend to anyone.

No Way!!! Don't do business with this guy. They conveniently "LOST" my account information despite the fact that I purchased a 10 visit pass. I only visit this area 3 times per year so I hadn't been here since last March. Even if they give a paper punch card now so it might not happen to you, why would you want to patronize someone with these practices? I spoke directly to the owner, Stephen A. Levin, who clearly believed me but basically told me he didn't care with a big ol' grin on his face. Nice. Right? Find another jumpy play place. Don't trust people like this with your kids, or your money!!!

I took my 18 month to Cool Beans for the first time today. She had a great time and enjoyed playing with other kids. In the beginning, I thought it was strange that I had to give my child's full name, address, phone number, date of birth and my email address. Really? I don't feel like this is in the best interest of a minor child, considering all the perverts out there. When I questioned this, I was told this info was needed for their insurance. We go to other play type places and have never been asked this. Half of the play area was open. I only saw one staff member in the play area. She didn't interact or play with the kids. Her role seemed to be more of policing kids and parents. I went into the pit with foam pieces and my socks fell off. I was bent over attempting to fish my socks out when the police lady came rushing over within 30 seconds. She rudely informed me socks were mandatory. I told her mine fell off and I was attempting to get them. She then went on to tell me I could purchase some. Seriously, chill out. My socks were found several minutes later. The same thing happened when another little kid jumped in and lost one sock. A mother of a young boy stepped on the trampoline and jumped for about 5 seconds. The same play police came rushing over to her and told her you need to be next to your child watching him at all times. The kid was literally 5 feet away and just too afraid to jump on the trampoline. The mom was attempting to show her son that it wasn't scary. The mother took her son and left. They were only there maybe 3 minutes. I understand that there are rules in a place like this. It just seems that this was more like bullying than enforcing the rules. The staff never even interacted with the kids. It seemed like they were just looking for a reason to scold the kids and parents. My daughter enjoyed the trampoline, slide and foam pieces. She was sad when it was time to go. I think this place would be more enjoyable if a few changes were made. Perhaps, hire staff that love kids. That would be nice.

When this place first opened, I took my grandson there and it was nice. It has gone downhill since. Toys and such are very worn out. For instance, they have a toy market stand there which was empty - we could not find anything to put in it. Half of the play area was closed and on the top of that, the mocha latte I ordered was one of the worst I have ever had. Unless they do something drastic to bring the whole place up to par with other playgrounds in town, it will soon be out of business.

Do not recommend. Especially not for birthday parties.

We have taken our grandson here quite a few times(when it was A latte) and this may be the last time. There was one staff member in there who could've cared less about the kids. She just wondered around aimlessly with disinfectant. There were kids throwing plastic lawn mowers down the slide and no one was paying any attention. The place is also dirty the bathroom floor was disgusting, we saw a few obviously sick kids, and the toys were missin pieces, the puzzles were missing pieces, and to much grime. We also ordered 2 drinks and they ran out of ingredients and it took them 20 mins to bring them to us. I want a healthy, happy place to bring our kids too but this places needs major tweeking.

This looked like a great place to take your children for a good way to run off some energy... but I agree with the other reviewer about how there was one random employee walking around with a container of lysol wipes wiping down the windows. My review is aimed more toward the coffee connoisseur than the parent looking to placate their child for a few hours.. so keep that in mind when you're reading :) If you are looking for a coffee shop, look someplace else. IMaybe I'm being picky, and I would accept that as I know I'm a bit of a coffee snob, but I found the "cafe" part of this establishment severely lacking. I purchased a vanilla cappuccino and my friend bought a caramel macchiato. I don't know if the employee was new, but her drinks were sub par at best. Honestly, I've bought better coffee at McDonalds. The decor of the "Adult" cafe section was very inviting, and I think if they learned to serve a decent espresso they would be able to market to a greater number of patrons at Downtown Gardens. If this is truly the Coffee Shop they want to pretend to be, then they should take some lessons at Harolds or Coasters coffee, because there isn't a starbucks at Downtown in the Gardens, and they could make a decent mount of money by serving a real cup of coffee. Like I mentioned before, I'm probably being too severe, but a place that markets itself as a playground for kids/cafe for adults REALLY should work on the effort to keep their adults satisfied with the quality of their coffee. Maybe I'll come back for another cup just to give them another chance, but the reality is because I usually don't have children in tow, I would rather go to the french bistro across the way and pay more $$ for a decent caffeine fix.

Staff extremely unprofessional. I informed the manager on duty about a staff member whom unlawfully attempted to move me outside the play area while I discreetly nursed my son. The manager then proceeded to mock what I said to her (to the staff member) right in front of me in the play room. It wasn't until I made mention on it that she moved her to the staff room to mock me further! Horrible service and highly unprofessional!

It's over priced and the girls working there are snotty and don't seem to be into kids. It's not that clean. The only thing I found enjoyable for my son was the trampoline. The ramp in the other room leading to the other slide is way to slippery. Liability issue I see occurring.. The slide leading into the foam pit is gross. Needs to be cleaned. New foam blocks should be added as they are falling apart. Eh, not a fan.

I was in the area last week and decided to bring my one-year-old son here on a whim. We arrived in the later afternoon (they were closing in half an hour) but we were hoping to get him a little play time before dinner. We asked if it was possible to get a pro-rated rate since he wouldn't be there all day, but the gentleman at the front desk said "No," and that we'd have to pay the full amount (about $15 I believe) which was unfortunate. I asked him if this place had any special events or classes for kids but the man we spoke with didn't seem to know so I grabbed a couple flyers and hit the website and found out there'd be Toddler Tuesday the following morning. We decided to pass and come back then. It was a bit drizzly Tuesday morn so not sure if that's why this place was so busy or if that's the average traffic Cool Beans sees. It's not that it's bad, but I would've preferred a less hectic environment for my kiddo. No big deal, though. We came in to play and were happy to find out that the fee on that day was actually cheaper than had we only done the half-hour the day before ($10!) For the first hour, my son had free range since older kids weren't allowed in yet. It was pretty great, though he still mostly remained closer to the toys/area for younger babies. I see what some folks mean about the staff not really interacting with the kids but honestly, this isn't a baby sitting service and if you're coming with your child I'd expect you want to play with them and/or encourage them to play with the other kids. I was fine with that because yeah, some of the kids and parents DO need some "policing" (some kids were throwing toys pretty far that could've injured other children, one kid tried to bring a push cart toy onto the trampoline, one dad was ON the trampoline for a bit, etc. basically stuff that might harm other kids if people aren't careful). There was a good amount of toys and activities to play with. Everything from puzzles and books and toy cars to fake food and slides and more. We had a great time overall. I will say that I agree with the parent who mentioned that there is NO security at this place. Anyone that pays (or anyone that comes in when it's busy enough for people NOT to notice) could walk in and out with your kid. Jumparoo's back home has someone checking wrist bands at the door and my local Chuck-E-Cheese stamps parent and child with a number to ensure they match as well. It may not be full-proof security but every little bit counts. Cool Beans may want to consider this. Overall, I enjoyed the place. They've got a little cafe with veg-friendly snacks and you're free to come and go all day once you've paid which is a plus.

1st trip... Wasn't optimistic based on other reviews. This turned out to be an excellent place to burn off an 18 month old's energy post-resort-check-out and pre-flight-home on a rainy FL afternoon. 95% of other parents were attentive to their kids and friendly to us. Employees were fine, but no I wouldn't just ditch my kid here and not pay attention to her at all (come on parents)! Big enough but not too big, toys were clean, place was safe. Fit the bill, worth the $10 for two hours of energy burning entertainment Can't comment on food or beverage.

Cute place to take kids. The food is a little overpriced and it takes about 5 minutes to get a coffee or tea you ordered. None of these things would bother me however if I wasn't completely distracted by the way the manager on duty spoke to his employees in front of the customers. It was my second visit there and the way he spoke down to them BOTH times was so condescending, it will probably make us not return.

This is a fun place for sure when the weather isn't cooperating in FL. However, watch your kids! There is absolutely no sort of security system on who goes in/out. I saw several children leave the play area on their own, not sure where their parents were, but could easily walk out the front door.

My father and I must have spent a good two hours in here chatting and drinking coffee while my little one played his heart out in the play area. I really enjoyed the concept of this place and I liked how as a working mother you could sit down with your laptop and get a little work done while your child can have fun being a kid. This place is like a smaller, more upscale Chuck E. Cheese with coffee and pastries instead of pizza and salads.
